Mentor Coaching with Mel

Mentor coaching is a structured, collaborative development process where a coach (you) works with a mentor coach to observe and receive feedback on your coaching sessions, all aligned with the ICF Core Competencies. The goal is deepening your skill set and reflective practice.

Mentor Coaching is for professionals who have an active practice of coaching and for those who have completed their training and seek to recenter their practice and receive feedback and guidance from a more experienced coach on their coaching skills.

Mel’s Approach to Mentor Coaching

Mentor coaching with Mel is no chore but a celebration of your commitment to coaching:

“Mentor Coaching is a co-created process, reliant on open and direct communication about your goals, skills, strengths, areas for growth, and progress. You will be encouraged to incorporate the ICF Core Competencies in your coaching while honouring and building your particular coaching style.”

You will be invited to let go of any push to be a pleasing student or feeling the need to perform. Instead, Mel will encourage you to adopt a “beginner’s mind” - focusing on progress, not perfection, as well as building self-trust, self-awareness, and a sense of being grounded thoroughly in the ICF Core Competencies.

  • I can genuinely say I am a better coach as a result of our work together - Ellie Bell

"Working with Mel as my mentor for my ACC ICF accreditation was an incredibly supportive and valuable experience. From the very beginning, she set up the process in a thoughtful and professional way. We discussed how the mentoring would work and, importantly, how I preferred to receive feedback, which immediately created a sense of psychological safety and trust.

Mel brought a wealth of knowledge and insight to our sessions. She ensured we focused on areas I specifically wanted to develop, while also asking powerful, thought-provoking questions that helped me uncover additional growth areas I hadn’t fully seen myself. Together we identified key aspects of my coaching to explore and strengthen.

I can genuinely say I am a better coach as a result of our work together. I would highly recommend Mel to any coach seeking mentoring that is supportive, insightful, and truly developmental."
