I was introduced to Yoga by Melanie Burdett. I have been doing Yoga now for almost 4 years. I am not that disciplined? Why I keep doing Yoga? Because I realized the value to my health problems. Even when traveling I do by myself some favorite exercises and it helps me to keep in balance. I am happy for having once started.

First, in Brazil I’ve tried to begin yoga’s lessons, but ‘I never got time’. I have a really good friend who teaches yoga over there and she gave me a book, showed me a lot of material, but it happend here in Holland. A really nice Germany lady showed me how good is to have yoga lessons. I found peace, energy and so much pleasure on be there. My husband says that I’m a lot better when a go to the lessons….maybe because I come more relaxed!!! I wish people would give yourself the chance to try and feel all the energy that comes from the practice. Thanks a lot Melanie, it’s so good to be there.

Melanie’s class provided a secure space for me to recover the “simply me” that was forgotten under layers of every day routines. Every time she would start the class with the words: “Arrive in this room. This is your time,” I would just let go of all today’s, yesterday’s and tomorrow’s tasks and be in the here and now and only for me. To me Yoga is a mental and physical interplay – the mental mobilization through playful meditative practice and the subsequent buildup and release of physical force through Yoga positions.
