Yoga Experience
My love for Yoga started around 30 years ago – in the attic of my parents house in Germany, where I found a Yoga Book. In the introduction I read about the author, a women formerly stressed and miserable who became happy, relaxed and fit again through the practice of Yoga. The book fascinated me and I started following the instructions for the asanas straight away. I started with the headstand because I did not know better back than. Physically fit as I was, no problem, but not knowing what else Yoga means and holds for us people. In the coming years I visited many Yoga seminars and Teacher Trainings in Germany, England, France, Austria and The Netherlands whenever there was the possibility. That way I came across different styles of Yoga and Meditation in the past years like Hatha, Kundalini, Kashmir and Mindfulness. I am an accredited Yoga Teacher (Hatha) by the British School of Yoga (“BSYA”: British School of Yoga Associate), a certified teacher for Hormone Yoga Therapy, accredited by Dinah Rodrigues and Member of the Independent Yoga Network.
My Yoga
The way I am practicing and teaching Yoga is a good mixture out of my personal experience with Yoga and Spirituality of the past 30 years. Practicing Yoga for me is not only rolling out my mat, but to embrace the yogic principles in my life and to pass this on to other people. I prefer teaching a small group or individuals to give detailed instructions about asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing) techniques, meditation and Yoga philosophy. The way my class is structured is very calm and relaxing. Asanas are performed slowly with focus personal abilities. Each asana is offered with a variation – my students age group is a good mix from 20s to 70s.
Mindful Good Breathing
Pranayama is a key for myself but also in the lesson – which is always ending with the chanting of “AUM” in combination with the three part full Yogic Breath. My aim is not only teaching asanas but also teaching AWARENESS in order to help everyone to enjoy their lives in HAPPINESS.
